On to Chapter Two ...
Irasshai and welcome. After much mulling over a new name for my San Francisco based blog, I have chosen www.kokochi.com.
Thanks for the many suggestions. I really liked them, but I also wanted a Japanese title since the Tokyo one had been English.
Kokochi means comfortable and pleasant...in my mind, kind of like old jeans or a nice sofa after a long day of work. It is written with 2 kanji characters: heart (koko) and land (chi). Thus there is also a connotation of comfiness linked to a place. I wanted to capture, somehow, the 'ahhhhh' feeling I get from being in San Francisco. I didn't grow up here and actually haven't spent much time here, but from the very first day, it clicked. Certain parts of me were like, "see, you aren't weird. you fit in cuz everyone is weird here." I sometimes wonder if I lived here in a past life and so now feel some sort of gut connection. Who knows.
So, I won't be posting on TokyoTidbits, unless I go back to Tokyo (just writing that brings sniffles...) My new chapter will be documented at kokochi.com. Ready for another ride?

I've been watching you posting restlessly. Trying to get a feel for the new neighborhood. You made the definitive step -- settled on a name. Go for it. Wear it like an old smoking jacket.
Keep in mind that it is going to be very difficult for former readers to find www.kokochi.com. Few will persist, when they are not automatically directed to your new URL.
At present, Google, does not recognize www.kokochi.com. It normally takes 3-6 months in which case many former readers will have assummed that your are kaput. I would suggest you keep the old name for continutity and ease of recognition; in case you need an automatic link.
You can also submit your blog to Google and Technorati, Blogdex, Daypop, Popdex, and the other blog search engines. That will help it bubble up to the top sooner than later.
[first, apologies for the first entry - silly keyboard combo and there it was...]
I've been reading your Tokyo blog from time to time and liked it really a lot, and especially I have been working in an environment whichi s developing the new mibile generations. So this is what my engineers are geeking on, heehee :)
Now I learned you've moved to SF, which is a nice coincidence. I will add your new blog link to my list; I am glad you feel at home in SF.
gonna update your link with both sites then :D
now im out to read kokochi.
