Tokyo Blog Party

EZ Movie file (.amc)

For those who know the Tokyo blogging community, you've probably already seen pictures from the party on people's various sites. Quality-wise, they are much better than mine, but here are a few I took with my trusty ol' cell phone. I got some good pics of Nadine (Thank you so much for organizing) with her fiance Tim and also with my dad. Then there is Paul and Bob, then Ian, Adam, a movie bit of Jason trying to explain how people know about my site, and finally me leaving Pink Cow, quite high from all the excitement, and inspired to play more with my blog!

Met some really interesting people and as I'm checking out their sites, I'm understanding more and more about the connections and how blogs can be used. Still lots to learn for me and it was great to talk to fellow bloggers. It was like we were already a community even though this was the first time meeting each other for most of us. Strange to be recognized, or meet someone and already know all about their last weekend. It simply amazes me that people are following TT (Tokyo Tidbits). The development of these connections - how these blogs are created on the web that then shape our in-person reality - is fascinating.

I've been doing this since November. My initial posts were bewildered experiments, not knowing the potential of a blog. I got a kick out of just seeing a photo I took with the phone on the site. Gradually, as I began to share the stuff I see and do, I noticed my awareness changing. Now I am always thinking should I, could I post this? Would it be interesting? So I experiment.

And the Blog Party was one big in-person feedback fest. I sure loved it! Thank you to everyone who showed up : )

just wanted to say I was glad for the chance to meet you, and also to confirm what your blog has told me, that you're very genuine. It was fun to observe your incredulous reaction to being recognized by complete strangers, and your "you're joking" reactions when you heard that your blog was being talked about elsewhere, like on the KEITAI mailing list. Like Paul says, you're at the forefront of a change in communication, so while you probably feel some pressure to keep it up, I'm sure you'll also stay true to yourself, which is most important. You go girl!

It was a pleasure to see you again, even if so briefly.
Next time catch me earlier so we can actually talk.
It's a strange feeling to have met you first in person, then "gotten to know you" only through your blog. ;-)

Hi everyone,

Thank you, thank you, thank you! And I hope to hang out more - in person - with you all.

Your pictures of everyone with their names and sites is really helpful since they evening went by in a blur. Good thinking!

What wonderful words. Nadine and I will work on upping the girl-power element ; ) Thanks for understanding where I'm coming from!

I know - everything still is kind of strange. I feel like all of a sudden I got a bunch more friends and I'm looking forward to getting to know them.

Hmmm looks like I'm late to the game but thanks for making it, it was great talking to you ^_^. You were the same in person as on your blog/comments, very charming. Keep taking pictures of your cats, and don't let anyone give you any crap about it.

Hi Ian,

Thanks. Well, I can only be me so that's just what everyone will get ; )

I checked at Gekko about the theater thing and the next one is while I'll be on a business trip so I'll let you know when the next next one is. He only accepts 10 people and it's full already anyway...

Glad to have met ya too!

It was awesome meeting you at the blog party. I learned about your site a couple of days before the party through the Keitai email list, then heard about the party on Friday .. and decided to go. It's so kewl to make connections like this.
I just moved to Tokyo and started a blog .. you're an inspiration to moblog.
Hope to see you at the next one.
