Cool :)

So what's the kitten's name now? It's going to need its own blog.

Mie, you did a really great thing. Most normal mortals would have ignored that cat, particularly since you're moving so soon. You're really awesome.

Do you think foreigners are able to understand the Japanese soul ("wabi-sabi")?

Well as the new proud owner of TuTu-chan I can safely say that she has spent her first night in her new digs and seems very happy. I am feeding her tuna and dry cat food soaked in water and milk.. she is sucking it rather than chowing down, but am happy to say that it is regular enough for her to be getting nutrients. I was a very proud mother last night as I put her on the kitty litter and she rewarded me with a big poo and then neatly covered it over. She is still a bit geographically challenged with her wee-habits but a few days of love and attention will sort that out.

She spends her time sleeping in my lap, eating, pooing and playing with her new cat toys. She is still at the rolly-polly stage and is very cute when she is getting up and down from the couch or my bed.

She woke me up at 6am and wanted to play but then she settled down with me for a pre-alam nap in my bed. Then after my shower she decided that my pajamas were the nicest place to curl up for a nap.

I just hope she is OK without me for a day as she is very clingy. But my mum will drop over later for a play and another friend will drop over as well.

I will take her to the vet tomorrow for a check-up and perhaps some shots. All the fleas have been removed and she is white, fluffy and soft just like a Tu-Tu...

I will send some keitai photos to Mie so she can put them up if she feels this is appropriate.

Thank you so much for asking me as she is an absolute lamb.

I wonder how long Tutu was running around alone. She got pretty lucky in the end though, eight lives left...

Cats... uhg.
Make sure they check for heartworms.

Update TuTu-chan watch - day 3.

TuTu went to the vet today and was given a clean bill of health. Ears good, no parasite eggs in unchi, no obvious signs of congenital diseases etc. Another visit in two weeks to start the vacinations. The vet said she was in great shape especially considering she was abandoned. She is 350 grams but considering her food intake she will not stay so svelt for long.

BTW the vet clinic is 2 minutes walk from my apartment and is run by a very cute young vet who was trained in California. I was a bit worried and had studied some animal relevant Japanese words but didn't need them. Plus the whole check-up, including 3 weeks of food cost very little.

She is such a genki little thing and we have really bonded. She follows me around the apartment and gives me a gushy welcome if I have been out. She eats really well and is now making the kitty litter tray everytime. She jumps around and plays with imaginary bugs and generally just a doll.

I have some photos of her crazy eating habits that I can post if you like!!

Tracey and TuTu,
I am soooooooooooooooooooo very glad all is working well and certainly happy to hear TuTu is healthy. I kinda new from the strength of her meows and her nonstop activity. I'm still exhausted!

I'm fully focused on the move now but hope to log in tomorrow from a cyber cafe. Please send pics!!

I just saw a program teaser a few minutes ago on TV plugging Mie's moblogging segment on CNN International, which will be on tonight (Tues) during the 11p.m. hour.

I just saw it as streaming-video on cnn.com - that's how I got here today ^_^. Nice site, very cool concept.

I wanna see. I wanna see.

Too bad Mie leaves tomorrow. Gonna pop around her place tonight and say goodbye.

I was in the USAF in Tokyo 1950-53. I loved it and met a lot of nice folks. I lived in the New Kaijo Building and worked in the Meiji Life Ins. Building. Do they still exist? Is there anyone I could e-mail with to learn about modern Tokyo?
