Mie with an island kitty. We had much fun; biking, climbing, getting sunburnt, and floating on a surfboard (no waves = no surfing). I'm leaving tommorow for San Francisco, so back now to a pure Mie TT...

Hey guys, I have a quick question for you: how was the ferry ride there? I'm asking because I have a tendancy to get motion sick in boats, but if / when I move to Tokyo, I would really like to go somplace like Niijima. I love the ferry ride between Vancouver and the Gulf Islands in BC, but that's over very calm waters. Was it really choppy?

It's a flying boat! The kind where when it gets going the entire hull lifts out of the water. If you look in one of the movies from the previous posting you can see one of the 'wings' that provide the lifts.... So it was a very smooth ride indeed (but, the seas were also relatively calm)

Oh, the wing is pulled up 90 degrees when at the dock soyou have to imagine it extended straight down...

Mie and Dav,
Sounds like you guys had an adventure! Too bad there wasn't any surf, but sometimes just floating and enjoying scenery is nice.

I wanted to chat w/ u guys at the 1IMC, but had to dig out and couldn't make it to the after party. Maybe on your next visit here or if I ever goto SF.
