@ Depot in Nakameguro
Met w/ Kojo-san to share more ideas about the DJ Bar thing.Depot had an interesting art installation w/ boxes of Brillo,clothing storage units,and paintings. I'll just say that I think we are both pretty excited although many details still need to be worked out.We both want something quite different from a typical club. Art, music, internet, changing themes, San Francisco & London, maybe 24 hours, politics, self-expression...we're experimenting.

Midori Mushi in San Francisco
Midori Mushi is a small, cozy, creative sushi bar attached to the Days
Inn at 465 Grove Street in San Francisco. I recently stopped by to
check them out, having heard from them that they were putting a lot of
effort into the sake menu. Owner/chef Gerard Dumuk is personable and fun,
and they have put together a very fine list of about ten sake or so,
with the help of sake-knowledgeable Namiko Nakatani . Very, very much
worth checking out. I think, though, that they have now become popular and
are basically full all the time ・so call ahead. It is a very funky
space, a bit different from most sushi bars, with a lounge-type atmosphere
on the second floor. The food is artistic and very tasty, and the sake
list is excellent.
Midori Mushi ("Green Bug") is at 415-503-1377. Open for dinner 6-10
p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays. Cash only. Private lounge available. For more

Stuff that's struck me as gooood...
-Yerba Buena hip hop exhibit, I think 2002
-Multi-media rooms with sounds and lots of visuals that present a place or a mood
-Res magazine, if you haven't seen it get one
-Airstream trailer in city with d.j.s
-Costumes and reasons to dress up but not to encourage the total freaks to lurk, just to be excited and have fun
-Fisherspooner looks good sounds good too!
-Open air bars, pubs, rooftop places
-Low seats and pillows it just makes people talk and interact more and relax!
-Bricks exposed cozy central
-Notice boards, idea exchanges, hook-ups
-Outside trips involving people from club... check out Meetup.com btw

Thanks for all the feedback about the bar. Seth, great idea. I definitely am interested in utilizing the internet. Maybe get interested companies to showcase their new funky gadgets too. (Burning Man will miss you!!)
CC. Great ideas too. I'm certainly having fun fantasizing and I think you and I have some common ideas. I really like the notice board/discussion board idea. I want to combine serious thought & awareness with fun and socializing. And costumes are a must! As things develop, I'll keep posting and ask for more feedback!
