Did they have a HunkaMike fake priest at the wedding?
Posted by: Dav at April 5, 2003 03:39 PMSame question: Where is HunkaMike?
Posted by: aahhh at April 5, 2003 08:11 PMTomorrow I'll do 3 weddings in Kyoto before o-hanami in Uji, No. 241-3 for me. One time I did 8 in a row, mostly at 30-minute intervals, at the hotel on awaji island where the England soccer team stayed for the World Cup. Haven't dropped a ring yet.
Posted by: nils at April 6, 2003 12:37 AMNah, this was authentic. Dan went to this church for years and the priest was a real one...a missionary from Atlanta. Been placed all around the world...not a bad experience I must say.
Gosh, 8 weddings in a row! That's like a factory. How did you keep all the names straight. Hard to personalize at that point, huh?
Posted by: Mie at April 7, 2003 10:25 AMHmmm, maybe I should move to Tokyo and be a wedding priest....
Posted by: Dav at April 8, 2003 05:07 PMMie,
Great photos! I'm still decompressing from wedding preparations, but Yuko and I were so happy to have you there. And you're right, that is the church I grew up in -- it's been there for 130 years now. I'm not sure if I would call Pastor Sloan a "missionary" -- I believe this is his first overseas experience. The church works just like any other, hiring pastors (mostly from the US) for 3-5 years.
Anyway, we'll have to show you our official photos when they're ready. Off to our honeymoon next week...
Hi Mie,
I'm just finishing up Daniel & Yuko's wedding video, and surprisingly found your site. This is kinda cool, and was surprised to find my photo here.
Take care,
Don
