Flew to HK for Dim Sum

EZ Movie file (.amc)

Now I really can't believe this. So I flew to HK as scheduled on route to Cambodia. Then, with the war situation and the outbreak of the SAR health alert, the organization I work for officially banned travel for 'non-essential' missions and I was called back to Tokyo. Essentially, I got into HK late at night and went right back the following afternoon. Even met the same flight attendant.

I'm exhausted and am scrambling to rearrange all my work since my travel and everyone else's schedule has suddenly shifted.

At least I got to meet up with my college friends Kit and Terry in HK.

Heya Mie! It looks like you've enjoyed your DIM SUM :) I hope everything will work out for you at the end with work! Meanwhile, I hope you'll be able to enjoy the rest of your time in my hometown, HK :)

What was the awareness of the problem like in Hong Kong? The NY Times and Washington Post indicate that China has not been very open with the public about the problem.

I'm surprised that your company recalled you--paternalistic, but kind of nice in this day and age.

Sorry to hear about your travel plans, but safety first, ne?

Hi April,
I didn't know you were from HK! I had a great time - just bummed that I couldn't stay longer and explore more. I'll go back though. Yes, the dim sum was great - had chicken feet ; )

Chuck,
Awareness...people knew about it, but felt the hype was totally blown out of proporation. But I work for a big organization and they made a blanket decision.

Ian,
Ma ne. Safety is important. I just found out that in the place where wheels are stored after airplanes take off, a dead body was found in the plane that I flew back on!! It had been there for quite some time apparently. The world is just too crazy now.

My god, sounds like the plot of a murder-novel. Creepy. Will you be able to find out any more details as to the circumstances?

Hi Mie,

It's great to have you in HK. My cats start missing you already.

Please rest assured that HK is still very safe. We don't need to walk around the town with a mouth mask. Agree that there have been not enough information on the situation. Fortunately the news gradually catches up.

The world is getting smaller and smaller. Silly to do the finger pointing rather than to find out the solution to solve the outbreak. Hope I am making sense here.
